So-Do-Grá - Our Foundation is Sustainable.

I didn’t set out to build a “sustainable” business.

I set out to build a business that felt true.

sustainability has been woven into my everyday life since I can remember.

it has never BEEN a question of whether it would be part of So-Do Grá—it was simply how the foundation would be laid.

It didn’t occur to me for many, many years—but we Graingers were ahead of the curve.

The Grainger Way: Resourceful, Creative, Rooted in Care

My nanny grainger made us clothes from wonderful pieces she bought in charity shops.

My Great Aunt Doreen—the “Do” in So-Do Grá—made us quilted bedspreads that we’ve used my entire life.

All of the Graingers used authentic methods for cleaning long before Nancy Birtwhistle boomed into green cleaning (she’s still my favourite—no doubt about that).

Vinegar, lemons, bicarb and newspaper sat alongside reusable, washable cloths.

It didn’t take a drought for my dad to install a water butt—we’ve had two since I was a little dot.

we’ve been oiling the Ercol table for the last 60+ years with our own home mix.

Starting a business, it was only right that my foundations were rooted in the same sustainability. This business is inspired and built from the experiences and memories of my childhood—with some incredible women (and men),
